Grow one of the most useful plants on any homestead, garden, or farm.
Comfrey is often called a "dynamic accumulator" because its deep roots pull nutrients from the subsoil and make them available to the plants around it. We use comfrey extensively on our farm to build soil fertility, create nutrient-rich compost, make liquid fertilizers, attract pollinators, and provide an endless supply of mulch throughout the growing season.
These root cuttings are an affordable way to establish your own comfrey patch. Simply plant them horizontally a few inches below the soil surface, keep the area moist while they establish, and watch them take off.
This is the variety Bocking 14 (Russian Comfrey). This is a sterile variety, meaning it doesn't self-seed. It can, however, be propagated very easily via root division.
